Lowra Mentele, MS, LADC, LPCC
Therapist
Lowra (pronounced Laura) embraces the Welsh spelling of her name and a professional philosophy rooted in a simple, powerful Welsh proverb: “The best knowledge is to know yourself.” As a cis-gender woman (she/her), she views self-awareness as the cornerstone of mental health and the starting point for all meaningful change.

Professional Background & Approach
Lowra earned her Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Minnesota State University Mankato. As a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor, she blends clinical expertise with a person-centered philosophy. She rejects the "one-size-fits-all" mentality, opting instead for a collaborative approach that prioritizes the unique needs and goals of the individual.
Her clinical experience is broad, covering:
-
Specialties: Substance use disorders, anxiety, and depression.
-
Life Navigation: Adjustment disorders, grief and loss, and major life transitions.
-
Methodology: Certified in Motivational Interviewing, she acts as a guide rather than a director, providing clients with the support and options necessary to lead their own healing.

Therapeutic Alliance
Lowra finds immense fulfillment in working with both teens and adults. By fostering a strong therapeutic alliance, she empowers her clients to navigate complex personal situations with confidence. Her goal is to ensure that every person she works with feels heard, supported, and equipped with the tools to discover their best selves.

Beyond the Office
When she isn't guiding clients through their healing journeys, Lowra is likely fueled by curiosity and connection. She is an avid traveler with a passion for exploring new cultures and cuisines. At home, she finds balance through: engaging in competitive board games, getting lost in the pages of a great book, and savoring quality time with her family.
For Lowra, life is a journey of discovery, and she is dedicated to helping others find the right path forward.
